Colors: Use any Christmas fabric to make this Christmas Tree block.
Use cream/pale to mid prints for the background
Dark greens for the tree
Dark browns for the tree trunk.
You will find that this is a great block to use up your left over fabric.
Use 1/4" seams to join the block pieces together
Press light fabric seams towards the dark fabric and cut off all 'dog ears'
This is a very cute wee block. It would work well in small quilts that are either mug quilts, a table runner quilt or other small quilt. Another use for this wee block is in a border or used as a sashing block.
This BOM was used several years ago in our quilting group and I can't remember seeing what the winner of these blocks made these blocks into.
If you are wanting to make a larger block using this pattern then enlarge it on a photocopier.

Below is the piecing diagram for sewing this block together.
With my time spent on Pinterest I have been inspired by a number of row by row quilts. My current favorite is by Lori Holt of 'Bee in my Bonnet'. She has created this quilt and shared it over a period of 6-8 months. Each of these repeated blocks within Lori's quilt are small.
The Christmas block would make a great addition within a Christmas row by row quilt! Food for thought and for a later date.
